Release # 6 - Last hours on air !
Since the operation begin, the
propagation conditions was very bad and as result, limited
operation. The internet conection in the island is very hard. For try to upload
the log, one of the operators,
must climb a high sand hill, with high winds mixed with sand, laptop on hands,
and 2G modem over the head ....:-).
After 00:00z June 15, only one station remain (40m) until 06:00z. The team hope
arrive back to São Luiz Island
around 23:40z.
Release # 5
The PX8J team is now in the city of
Apicum-Açu City, the last stop before the LENÇOIS iSLAND.
We will leave in fews hours in the boat that will take us the island and it
stays the forecast that still today will be possible to begin the around 23:00Z.

Release # 4 - Good news!!
The operators of PX8J/PX8L are already in São Luis, preparing the embarkment of the material for PX8J (SA-041), trip that begins on this Tuesday at 07:00Z o'clock. There is forecast of a very favorable high tide during the afternoon. Therefore, there is a good possibility that the operation starts around 23:00Z. Look for IOTA frequencies.

Anatel (our Telecommunication authority) has informed us that special calls for
our Lençois Island and São Luis Island will be as below.
Lençois Isl (SA-041) – PX8J
from June 9th thru 15th,
São Luiz Isl (SA-016) – PX8L
from Jun8 16th thru 18th
Changes regard ANATEL’s administrative matters and do not compromise any
calendar planning.

The DX Pedition itinerary is defined and
part of the material to be transported is already in São Luis Island, as
antennas, cables and generator.

Release # 1
Permission to operate in Lencois Island has been granted by the
Environemnt Ministery to PW8J team.
Transportation services for operators, luggage and equipment from Sao Luis to
Lencois Island have also been hired.
Operators have also purchased their air ticket from their QTH to Sao Luis.
